TCC Announces New Charity Partnerships

TCC has, today, announced which charities they will be supporting throughout 2017.

Each year, employees of The Contact Company are given the chance to nominate a local cause close to their heart. The list of nominated charities is then presented to all employees for voting. This year, the TCC family have decided to up their game and support two local charities…

 

Claire House Children’s Hospice

Last year, The Contact Company raised over £8,000 for Charity of the Year 2016, Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Claire Louise Cain (the inspiration behind Claire House) passed away in 1989, just before her 10th birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer. In the months that followed Claire’s passing, the Cain family came to the conclusion that the area had more to offer for families of children with life-limiting illnesses; they decided the families needed a dedicated place of support to help make their child’s final days more comfortable, whilst enabling all of the family to be together in their difficult time. A number of events were held throughout the year, including TCC’s Got Talent- which raised £2,027 alone, and included an appearance from England football legend, John Barnes.

This year, there will be two charities: one “Leading” charity and one “Entry”. The Leading Charity will be presented with 75% of the total raised by TCC and the Entry Charity will receive 25%, before becoming the Leading Charity the following year. This new process allows TCC to spend two years with each charity; getting to know them and forming a real partnership. The change also means that TCC will continue to support Claire House for a second year- making Claire House the Leading Charity for 2017.

Head of Client Services at TCC, Catherine Miles: “Changing our approach to support two partner charities each year, instead of one as in previous years, demonstrates our focus on maximising the fund-raising opportunities, whilst sharing the TCC love (and cash)! Working closely with a charity partner across a second year gives us a chance to implement improvements and apply learnings from our first year’s relationship. Bringing a second charity on-board allows us to start to build our relationship with that charity and for them to benefit from the generosity of TCC colleagues.”

 

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity

This year’s Entry Charity, as chosen by TCC employees, will be The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. 

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. The centre treats over 30,000 patients a year; providing pioneering chemotherapy, radiotherapy and proton therapy treatments. The charity funds this vital research, as well as supporting the latest therapies and innovations in cancer treatment.

Elspeth Wilson, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity Fundraising Manager: “It’s amazing news that we have been selected by [TCC] employees, I’ve been telling the team about the fundraising activities for Claire House last year- they sounded ace! We’re all looking forward to working with The Contact Company… bring on 2017 / 2018!”
