Employee of the Month, December 2016- Craig Smith

Congratulations to The Contact Company’s Employee of the Month for December, Craig Smith.

Craig is a Customer Service Advisor on the Superdrug campaign and works to the best of his ability each and every day; always keen to learn new tasks and progress. On top of the effort Craig displays each and every day, he recently received some fantastic feedback after really going above and beyond for the customer!

In early December, a customer got in touch with a query about their store card, which was quickly resolved by Craig. The customer then got back in touch to ask if their Daughter could have a copy of the latest store magazine- the young Daughter had been too unwell to get to the shops, but loved to collect magazines with her favourite Vloggers on! Craig took it upon himself to have a dig through the cupboards and asked his line manager if he could send the customer the magazine, along with a few other little bits he had found.

After receiving the parcel, the customer was extremely thankful and got back in touch to thank Craig:

“Thank you ever so much for the parcel yesterday. My Daughter was over the moon with what you sent- you made her day! What better a time to receive it: just before a hospital appointment this week; after 4 hospital treatments in the last two weeks; and after now being diagnosed with another condition. What great customer service you provide. The company should be very proud to employ you! You made one teenager very happy, in spite of all her illnesses. I really do appreciate that you thought of us.”

Operations Manager, Alan Donaghy: “Craig is a long-standing member of the team, who is trained on every aspect of the campaign. He is an extremely valued employee and a real joy to work with. Craig takes his role very seriously and strives to provide each customer he encounters the highest level of customer service possible.”

We had a little chat with Craig to find out what his greatest achievement is and which superhero he’d most like to be for the day…

 

1. What is your favourite part of your job?

Helping the customer and making sure they get what they need- first time!

 

2. What made you come to TCC?

It was so long ago! I was looking for a job and I thought it would be a good fit for me, as I had worked in a similar role in a store.

 

3. If you could be a superhero for the day, who would you be and why?

Superman, because it reminds me of when I met my partner… we were at a fancy dress party!

 

4. If you could change one thing about your job, what would it be and why?

Having access to Excel would really help, I think! As an Advisor I don’t have access, but I think I’d be able to help out a lot more if I had access- it would help me more with my Team Leader Support work.

 

5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending time with my partner and Daughter; watching Liverpool FC; gardening/D.I.Y; and cars/motorbikes!

 

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

With the support of my line managers and the team here, maybe a Team Leader?

 

7. What is your greatest achievement?

My Daughter.
