The Contact Company CEO Appointed Chair of Liverpool City Region LEP

We are delighted to announce that The Contact Company CEO, Asif Hamid, has been appointed Chair of the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

The Liverpool City Region LEP was created in 2012, with a view to bring together business leaders and drive business growth. The Liverpool LEP covers the local authority areas of Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, St Helens, Wirral and Sefton.

Asif was formally chosen as Chair by the LEP Board last week, following an extensive and open recruitment process to replace previous Chair, Robert Hough, who stepped down last year. The appointment is for a minimum of three years.

Having been at the cutting edge of the contact centre industry for the past 25 years- in roles ranging from Sales and Marketing Director, Operations Manager and Head of UK Operations for some of the world’s leading outsourcing businesses- Asif is one of the best-known, leading entrepreneurs in his field.

Having decided that all clients deserve an identical level of quality of service- with a partnership approach (something sometimes overlooked in the Outsourcing Industry)- Asif started The Contact Company in 2006, with just 15 employees. Since then, the company has grown to over 1,100 employees, across two sites; supporting a number of well-known brands. Through his continued hard work and belief in the region, and its people, Asif has worked to bring major national and international brands to the area, creating 450+ jobs in the region within the last 12 months.

Asif’s commitment to growth was demonstrated last year, with the opening of The Contact Company’s second site: Kingsgate. The investment of over £15 million pounds was recognised as “Investment of the Year” at both last year’s Echo Regional Business Awards, as well as the Wirral Business Awards.

Asif: “I am both honoured and delighted to have been chosen to take on this important role at a hugely exciting time for the City Region. I am deeply committed to the inclusive growth of our City Region and firmly believe that the LEP has a vital role to play in enabling business, the public sector and the whole community to work in partnership to realise the incredible potential of this place we live and work in… [continued]”
